It can be a hard decision to leave the city for the suburbs. If you’re not sure yet if you want to make the move, here are some of the advantages of living in the suburbs.
- Increased sense of community. Suburbs often have a close-knit feel to them, with neighbors looking out for each other and getting together for cookouts, block parties, and other events that help to build a sense of camaraderie.
- Strong school systems. Many suburban areas offer excellent educational opportunities for children.
- More space, more green areas, more peace and tranquility, and a more affordable cost of living. The South Shore has lots of conservation land for outdoor adventures.
My family made the move 10 years ago and we’ve never looked back. We live in a neighborhood just like the one described above and our daughter goes to a fantastic school. The pace is slower and the people are friendlier.
I spent many years living in the city and I recognize that it can be a tough decision. If you’re considering make the move, I’m happy to discuss the pros and cons.
